Words of Wellness

Words of Wellness are resources for students to access and utilize to improve and maintain their overall wellness.

While the Wellness Center’s Counseling Services are available Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for counseling, consultation, and referral needs, we wanted to share additional resources that may be beneficial during this time.

In the past several weeks, the coronavirus outbreak has brought about many changes to our lives. Many of us are experiencing grief and loss in many ways.  Grief is a normal psychological process that occurs after breavemenet or other major losses. Not only are we dealing with possible grief and loss of loved ones but we are also experiencing other forms of grief and loss, such as grief and loss of our sense of freedom, autonomy, our daily routines of going to work and/or school, engaging socially with friends and our ability to go out and about.

The following resources focus on grief and loss among many areas of our lives during the coronavirus pandemic:

The Stages of Grief from Therapist Aid

This handout discusses the stages of grief according to the Kübler-Ross model. Remember these stages of grief are more fluid. Some individuals may fluctuate back and forth between stages and some may transition between stages that don’t necessarily adhere to the order laid out in this worksheet. Grief and loss affects us all differently and having an understanding of various emotions we may experience can be beneficial for us in moving through our process of grief.
