“Sponsor a Turkey” for EOC Thanksgiving Food Drive

Thanksgiving food drive flyer sponsor a turkeyThe EOC (Capital District Educational Opportunity Center) is holding a Thanksgiving food drive to provide its students, most of whom live in low-income households, with items for complete Thanksgiving meals.

If you would like to “sponsor a turkey” for this initiative, you can make a $10 donation to the EOC, or donate $20 that will purchase all the items listed below as well as a $10 gift card to go toward a turkey. Donations can be made through the HVCC Foundation online at www.hvcc.edu/giving/online.html (please specify the designation as “Capital District EOC Food Drive” in the drop-down menu) or over the phone by calling 518-629-8012. All donations will directly benefit EOC students and their families.

Your donations will help purchase the following items and contribute to the EOC’s goal of filling 300 bags with various dry and canned goods to be distributed to EOC students before Thanksgiving:

  • Boxed stuffing
  • Boxed potatoes (e.g., instant mashed, scalloped)
  • Canned vegetables (e.g., corn, green beans)
  • Canned cranberry sauce
  • Cornbread mix
  • Gravy mix
  • Pre-made pie crusts
  • Pie filling (e.g., canned pie filling, pudding mix)
  • $10 gift card to be put toward a turkey

About the EOC:

The Capital District Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) provides income-based education programs and support services for adult learners (ages 16+). These programs often lead to enhanced employment opportunities, access to further education, and increased personal growth. The EOC is funded by the SUNY University Center for Academic and Workforce Development and delivers comprehensive, community-based academic and workforce development programs.
