Memorial Day ceremony at Saratoga National Cemetery will be live streamed

A notification from Director Scott Lamb at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery:

The National Cemetery Administration and Under Secretary of Memorial Affairs Randy Reeves are committed to ensuring each national cemetery observes Memorial Day while also protecting the health and safety of their visitors and team members.

NCA will not host public 2020 Memorial Day events or ceremonies, including group placement of grave site flags. These events are well supported by the community and traditionally draw many attendees. Unfortunately, hosting large gatherings of this size is not advisable due to concerns about COVID-19.

Despite not holding a public ceremony, NCA will uphold its long-standing tradition of observing Memorial Day at all national cemeteries. My staff will conduct a wreath-laying ceremony to officially commemorate Memorial Day along with the displaying of our Avenue of Flags on the main drive of the Cemetery.

We invite the public to join us virtually at the following link.

View the “live stream” at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 23.

(A video and photos will be posted on Facebook following the event.)

Thank you and stay safe!
