Over the weekend, Chief Diversity Officer Ainsley Thomas and Student Services Specialist Liz Cowan (EOC) attended Teen Nite at Green Tech High School. For the past 22 years, Teen Nite has been occurring in the City of Albany. The program is intended to keep at-risk youth off the streets, and inside with positive role models and productive activities.
The program is headed by Ron “Cook” Barrett, a gang prevention specialist, and David Graham, a community justice and outreach manager. The event is held at Green Tech High School every two weeks from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturdays. Our presence there is to develop relationships with 7th through 12th graders and expose them to career options.
