2023 Middle States co-chairs named

Yes, it’s that time again! Hudson Valley Community College’s 2023 Middle States Self-Study process is now officially underway.

I am pleased to announce that the Self-Study process will be led by Assistant Professor Joe Stenard and Dr. Margaret Geehan.

Assistant Professor Stenard joined the History, Philosophy, and Social Sciences (HPS) Department in 2008 and teaches the Principles of Macroeconomics and the Principles of Microeconomics. He also is serving as the advisor for the college’s Investment Club, which he established several years ago. The mission of the club is to improve financial literacy and practical knowledge on markets, investments, risk abatement and other decision making strategies.

Dr. Geehan has been at the college since 1997 and is currently the Dean of Institutional Assessment and the college’s Middle States Liaison.

As the 2023 Middle States Self-Study process kicks off, the college’s Middle States co-chairs will begin to work with the college’s leadership to identify a core group of individuals who will serve as members of the Steering Committee and to establish Working Groups for each of the seven Middle States Standards. Managing a successful self-study process is a major project that will require a significant investment of time, energy, and participation of the campus community.

Stay tuned to this exciting process through regular updates in the Campus Chronicle and through the new Middle States 2023 Portal Site within Blackboard.
