NYS DOT Public Meeting on Nov. 16: Troy-Menands Bridge

Officials from the NYS Department of Transportation will conduct a public meeting about the potential replacement of the Troy-Menands Bridge from 6 to 7:30 on Wednesday, Nov. 16 in the BTC auditorium.

The meeting will provide an opportunity for residents, stakeholders and local leaders to hear and discuss options regarding a potential replacement of the Troy-Menands Bridge, which opened in 1933 and connects the Village of Menands and the Town of Colonie in Albany County with the South Troy neighborhood of the City of Troy in Rensselaer County.

The meeting will include a formal presentation and an opportunity for public involvement. DOT consultants, engineers and planners will be on hand to answer questions.

This is the first of three public meetings planned by the NYS DOT to discuss the future of the Troy-Menands Bridge. The meetings are part of a Planning and Environmental Linkage Study the DOT is conducting in conjunction with the Capital District Transportation Committee (CDTC) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Additional meetings will be announced in the future.
