The Executive Board members of the Hudson Valley Community College Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society got together on June 3 to volunteer at the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern NY in Latham.
The Food Bank collects large donations of food from the food industry and distributes it to charitable agencies in 23 counties. It provides over 35 million pounds of food a year to 1,000 agencies. The PTK volunteers took this opportunity to help the community, one of the core values of Phi Theta Kappa. With its purpose of developing leadership and service, Phi Theta Kappa promotes academic excellence and fellowship for all its members. This is why members are proud to say #IAMPTK and display it on their masks (see below).
