The Hudson Valley Community College Foundation was “challenged” by the SUNY Impact Foundation to raise $50,000 between April 15 and June 30. Each gift to the COVID-19 Student Emergency Fund would be doubled (up to $50,000), through a 1:1 matching grant.
The generosity and compassion of our donors — including many faculty and staff, and campus organizations* — enabled us to reach this goal. As a result, the maximum $50,000 grant will be available to support HVCC students facing significant setbacks as a result of the pandemic.
To date, the COVID-19 Student Emergency Fund has provided 356 grocery store e-gift cards to students facing food insecurity, as well as emergency grants to students who do not qualify for CARES Act funding.
We thank you for making a difference!
*Special thanks to our lead donors: the Faculty Association, Faculty Student Association, Non-teaching Professionals, and the Class of 2020.
