Recycle plastic cups and help the Chemistry Club make Beaker Planters for Earth Day!

Want to help the Chemistry Club with its Earth Day Beaker Planters this semester?
Here are a few ways to help! Contact Dr. Nowosielski (d.nowosielski@hvcc.edu) for more information.

1. Donate plastic cups.
Want to do something with your iced drink cups other than just throw them away?  Donate your used (and cleaned) iced drink cups from Dunkin’, Starbucks, Panera, Cumberland, etc. to the HVCC Chemistry Club to help its effort to create Beaker Planters to give away for Earth Day in Spring 2023.  A great way to give plastics another use before they get to the landfill!  Washed cups (any size is fine; lids NOT needed) may be given to Dr. Danica Nowosielski, co-advisor of the Chemistry Club. Her office is in SCI 367 (inside Suite 359) of the Science Center. Contact her (d.nowosielski@hvcc.edu) with any questions or to arrange a pick-up of the cups you have to donate.

2. Donate seeds.
The Chemistry Club is also accepting seed donations to assist the Sustainability Committee with its seed swap on Earth Day.

3. Help us paint and assemble the beaker planters.
