Our students have the opportunity to benefit from a newly-established SUNY initiative, and we ask for your help in making them aware due to the small window in which to apply.
The SUNY Pathways Scholars Award program will help high-performing students committed to completing their associate’s and bachelor’s degrees in two and four years, respectively, at SUNY Institutions. Pathways Scholars will receive a total of $500 during their first year to use for non-tuition and fee related expenses ($250 at the start of semester one and, if they remain in good standing, an additional $250 at the start of semester two). Upon completion of their associate’s degree and enrollment in a SUNY bachelor’s degree program, Pathways Scholars will receive an additional $1,000 to use for non-tuition related expenses.
To qualify, students must:
- Have graduated from a high school in New York State in 2020 with an average of at least 80%
- Enroll for the first time as a full-time student in an associate degree program at a SUNY community college or college of technology
Eligible students will receive an email with instructions to apply through the Foundation’s scholarship portal: hvcc.academicworks.com/opportunities/1152. The deadline for applications will be Thursday, Aug. 20 by 5 p.m.
Hudson Valley has resources for 107 Pathway Scholars awards, which will be made on a first-come, first-served basis. Please email scholarships@hvcc.edu with questions.
