Sustainability Tip Of The Week

Sustainability Tip of the Week
A simple wish for a better tomorrow

Green Things Considered

From the NY Times:

Question: How many hours could you leave a lamp with an LED light bulb switched on and produce the same amount of greenhouse gases as a single load in a clothes dryer?

Answer: You could leave an LED light on for roughly 300 hours, or 13 days straight, and have the same carbon footprint as one load in the dryer.

Action: Use free solar power to dry your clothes. They will last longer, smell nice and you will help save the earth. And, see our sponsors below to sign up for solar power so when you do use a dryer, you are using safe and inexpensive energy.

Faculty, staff and students please share your sustainable ideas for our weekly tip to j.coons@hvcc.edu.
