New and returning Non-degree/Non-matriculated students will now complete an application at www.hvcc.edu/apply using the same CRM-RECRUIT program that the Admissions Office has implemented to start the enrollment process. Following the new auto-acceptance process to get activated, these students will now receive their username and password electronically, and then be directed to contact a SOAR non-degree advisor (formerly Continuing Education) in Guenther Suite 231 to discuss the enrollment process and register for classes.
Current Non-degree/Non-matriculated students will receive their AVNs as they have previously, which is through an auto-generated process that sends them via HVCC e-mail at the beginning of the Summer/Fall and Winter/Spring Registration Cycles.
The AVN Request form has been removed from the HVCC website and students will now see their next steps to register for a course by reviewing the statements here: https://www.hvcc.edu/admissions/get-started/course.html. Matriculated students will see that they need to speak with their department advisor to obtain an AVN, rather than erroneously completing the AVN Request Form, and be directed to this website to locate their advisors’ contact information: https://www.hvcc.edu/advise
This new Non-degree Admissions process requires the Phone Registration process through the Registrar’s Office to no longer include Non-degree students, and will now be work completed by the SOAR Office. These students will now call (518) 629-7219, select Option 2, to speak with a SOAR Non-degree Advisor. We will continue to use coned@hvcc.edu for the time being and are phasing out use of extension 7338.
Staff in the Registrar’s Office will continue to provide registration support for Senior Citizen Audits, College in the High School students, and Cross-Registration. They will also continue to support Matriculated and Non-matriculated students with adding/dropping courses when they are seeking to switch to a different section of the same course and re-registering them after being dropped for non-payment when space allows.
