Damon West speaks to Student-Athletes

Motivational speaker Damon West spoke to coaches and student-athletes on the evening of Sept. 28 via Zoom. West told his compelling story of going from a privileged Division 1 quarterback to a meth addict, who faced 65 years in prison. The best selling author of “The Coffee Bean” explained how he overcame all odds and turned his life around.

The session had 249 total users, and the coaches and student-athletes were engaged during the Q&A session at the end of the presentation. The best moment of the night came when one of our coaches received the following message from a student-athlete:

“Coach, just got done listening to Damon West, and it completely shifted my outlook on how I view life itself. It made me realize that it’s never too late to get up and do something life-changing for yourself and for the world. Thank you coach for letting all of us know about the Damon West webinar. It’s something that I’ll never forget.”

A special thank you to Maria Zemantauski, coordinator of the college’s Cultural Affairs Program, for collaborating with athletics on this offering.

West will be telling his story again on Thursday at noon via Zoom to the general public.
