In spring 2020, the Planning Committee of the Academic Senate met to update the Hudson Valley Community College goals and objectives. This was a timely effort since the Strategic Plan had recently been competed, along with the revision of the HVCC mission and vision, and creation of core values. The committee met on multiple occasions to discuss modifications and/or revisions to the current goals and objectives.
At the September 2020 virtual meeting of the Planning Committee, members were asked to vote on the final version, completed via e-mail. The vote was unanimous and the goals and objectives were approved. The Academic Senate is expected to also vote on the adoption of the revised goals and objectives at its Oct. 26 meeting.
We now ask members of the college community to communicate their comments or suggestions prior to the Senate meeting. Please review the revisions and email your input to Margaret Geehan or Dennis Wax. A side-by-side comparison of the current goals and objectives and the revised version is provided here.
Subsequently, we will schedule an open Zoom meeting for all campus community members to make suggestions or register comments in the interest of Shared Governance.
