All visitors to the campus during the week of Sept. 28 to Oct. 2 received a brightly colored wristband with the words “Download My HVCC App” boldly written on them. This was a part of the promotion initiative of the Alpha Xi Sigma Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Hudson Valley Community College.
The chapter’s goal is to promote the new app to help connect the college community. To bring more awareness about the app, PTK members distributed wristband at COVID-19 screening stations around campus, hung posters in various buildings and joined Zoom classes to talk directly to students about it.
This was truly a team effort that could not have been accomplished without the help of President Roger Ramsammy; Ronalyn Wilson, assistant vice president of Academic Affairs, Director of Institutional Effectiveness Kathleen Petley, director of Institutional Effectiveness; Eric Bryant, associate director of Communications and Marketing; Alfredo Balarin, director of Student Life, and Fred Aliberti, director of Public Safety, and support from the Student Senate.
