Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society donated egg dye kits to the South End Children’s Café and volunteered to help with an Easter Egg Hunt on April 6. Along with other volunteers from Albany Law School, SUNY Albany and The College of Saint Rose, PTK created DIY Easter crafts, hid eggs around the grounds, and helped the children to fill their baskets.
First, volunteers made beaded necklaces and bracelets for the kids and drew bunnies to decorate the café. Once the children arrived, volunteers walked to the playground and hid hundreds of eggs filled with surprises. Laughter lingered in the air as the children ran to the playground and eagerly searched for the eggs. Their giggling continued when they popped open the eggs to find candy, rings, stickers and more.
Volunteers and the children ended their afternoon with some bunny special! Everyone visited the Easter Bunny and captured memorable photos.
