Faculty and staff interested in learning more about the college’s participation in the SUNY Guided Pathways initiative are invited to register for a virtual Guided Pathways Institute taking place Wednesday through Friday, Oct. 21-23, via Zoom.
President Ramsammy and other college and SUNY officials will be participating in the virtual conference, which will feature several different workshops and seminars on topics related to Guided Pathways implementation, as well as keynote speakers and a virtual reception.
SUNY’s Guided Pathways project was designed to increase college completion rates among students and ultimately help them create a faster pathway to a career. The program focuses on strategies like the creation of “program maps” that clearly show students a pathway to their ultimate career goal; the creation of stronger partnerships with both K-12 institutions and four-year transfer partners; and the strengthening of academic advisement so students stay on track to complete their goals.
Hudson Valley is part of Cohort II of the program, along with Dutchess Community College, Erie Community College, Finger Lakes Community College, Jefferson Community College, Schenectady County Community College, and SUNY Ulster. Ten additional SUNY colleges and universities participated in Cohort I of the program, which launched in 2018. Additional cohorts are expected to be created as SUNY moves toward implementing the system at more colleges and universities across the state.
You may view the event schedule and register for the Guided Pathways Institute online. Space in some sections will be limited, so reserve your spot soon if you are interested in participating.
