The funeral possession of Senator Joseph L. Bruno, who died Oct. 7 at the age of 91, is expected to pass through campus at noon on Friday, Oct. 9. Members of the Vikings baseball team, college administrators and Tri-City ValleyCats staff plan to view the procession as it passes through the stadium that bears the name of the former NYS Senate Majority Leader.
Members of the campus community who wish to participate should arrive at the stadium main gate by 11:45 a.m. The procession will enter campus on Williams Road and be escorted around the stadium outfield by Public Safety before taking Cross Road to North Road and exiting campus.

Joseph L. Bruno was a tireless advocate and dedicated supporter of Hudson Valley Community College and its students, not only during his years in the State Senate but throughout his career. As a champion for education, he understood the value of community colleges and the importance of providing accessible, high quality educational opportunities to students in the Capital Region and beyond.
On behalf of the Hudson Valley community, we extend our deepest sympathies to Senator Bruno’s family as we mourn the passing of this incredibly remarkable and influential leader.
