Build a resume, craft a cover letter, learn about job references & more…

 

The Center for Careers & Transfer (CCT) welcomes students and alumni to join our virtual mini-info sessions (20 minutes each) today, Nov. 3 as part of our Fall 2020 Employment Days event. And please stay tuned to our social media (Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter where we’ll be sharing job opportunities). 

  • 10 a.m — Building a Resume — learn about resume types and what categories should be included. Did you know there are four standard types of resumes?
  • noon — Crafting a Cover Letter — learn the format and essential elements of a cover letter. Cover letters are your opportunity to explain why you are a good fit for a job.
  • 2 p.m. — Job References — learn why employers ask for references, how to format a reference page and how to ask someone to be a reference for you (Yes, you have to ask them first!)
  • 4 p.m. — Job Search Strategies — learn how and where to look for open positions. Job search sites are great but don’t forget about the hidden job market!
