The NOPIATES Committee’s annual Overdose Awareness Day is coming up on Thursday, Aug. 31, when a memorial event will be held at 6 p.m. to remember lost loved ones, bring hope and support for those in need, and celebrate those who are in recovery.
All are welcome to join a vehicle procession from the West Sand Lake Elementary School (24 Meeler Road) to the Sky High Adventure Center (27 Lake Ave., Averill Park). Participants are encouraged to promote awareness and recovery with positive messages on their vehicles.
The program at SHAC will be broadcast on 88.3 FM. John Dillion will provide music and messages of healing and hope.
