“Wreaths Across America” at the Gerald P. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery

We are rapidly approaching the Nov. 30 deadline for this year’s Wreaths Across America (WAA) campaign for the Gerald B.H Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.

The local chapter is at 85% of its wreath goal (426 of 500) and the cemetery is halfway (53%) with 7,008 of the 13,100 wreaths needed to “reecognize and remember” all those interred at the cemetery.

If you would like to sponsor a wreath or wreaths, visit the donation page: https://www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/pages/20263/Overview/?relatedId=16650.

Please support this project as best as you can and please consider sending this email out to your friends, relatives, neighbors and coworkers asking for their support too!

Anyone interested in volunteering to help place the wreaths on Saturday, Dec. 19 should note the schedule of four, two-hour sessions below:

  • 8 to 10 a.m. — Section 21, Columbarium Wall 1-24 and the Garden Niche
  • 10 a.m. to noon — Sections 9, 12, 14, 18, 20, Memorial Section, Columbariums A & B
  • Noon to 2 p.m. — Sections 6, 7, 8
  • 2 to 4 p.m. — Sections 1, 2, 3

All volunteers must wear mask, gloves and maintain social distance!

Due to the pandemic, there will be no public ceremony at the cemetery this year. A private ceremony will be held on Dec. 18 that will be posted on the Gerald P. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/NatCemSaratoga.
