The Hudson Valley Community College Foundation is pleased to announce that 18 outstanding students have been selected as recipients of 2020-2021 Second Chance Scholarships. Due to the extraordinary times and financial hardship experienced by so many of our students, the Scholarship Committee unanimously agreed to increase the number of awards this year.
The Second Chance Scholarships are intended to support students who not only have financial need, but also have overcome significant personal obstacles in order to pursue an education. The goal of the program is to reward those who demonstrate the initiative and desire to achieve self-sufficiency through education. Recipients are rewarded for academic success; the higher the grades, the greater the financial award.
Applications for the Second Chance Scholarship Program are accepted annually in the fall. In spring 2021, the Foundation will announce the application period for its other scholarship awards.
