Winter 2021 Offerings
Online Instructor Boot Camp
The online instructor boot camp workshop is “the classic” Pedagogy for Effective Online Course Design and Delivery (PEOCDD) workshop condensed into a one-week Wed-Fri/Mon-Wed two-hour long intensive session followed by a week to build the course.
The training is best for faculty who will be teaching fully asynchronous (no set meeting time) online courses in the second Spring 2021.
You will learn tools and strategies in class sessions, and in between class sessions you build out your course. At the end of two weeks, the course is complete and it is reviewed with the OSCQR rubric for best practices. It is then sent to your DC for review and approval. This offering is ideal for those who are committed to spending a couple of weeks doing primarily online course building every day. If you have a tight schedule or lots on your plate, this will probably be too much to do in two weeks.
Training Dates: Daily from Jan. 6 through Jan. 13, 2021, with a week to build, and a Jan. 21 SUNY Online Course Quality Review (OSCQR). One-on-one appointments will be available from Jan.14 through Jan. 20 for additional assistance.
Training Location: Remotely via Zoom – the meeting link will be sent out within 24 hours of the start time for the session you registered for
Registration Deadline: Jan. 4, 2021, by 4 p.m.
Registration Form – you will receive a confirmation page after submission and an email should be sent
Remote Instruction Training
If you are interested in integrating Blackboard into your face-to-face (F2F) or remote online synchronous (set meeting time) courses, please email DLHelp@hvcc.edu.
