Friday Feels

Very Well Mind.com explains: “While music therapy is an important discipline, you can also achieve many benefits from music on your own. You may have already been doing this since you were a teenager, but it’s a great idea to keep incorporating music into your daily life as you age through the life cycle, as we now know.

Music can be used in daily life for relaxation, to gain energy when feeling drained, for catharsis when dealing with emotional stress, and in other ways as well. Most of us know from experience that music can dissolve the stress of a long drive, keep us motivated to exercise, and take us right back to positive experiences in our past, which can be a happiness booster and a stress reliever.” Click here for the full article about music therapy.

Music can be incredibly powerful. It can be a gateway to feeling connected with our minds and bodies and the lyrics in a song can allow us to feel validated, heard, connected, uplifted, reinforced, moved, and motivated, to name a few. Some songs allow us to sit with an emotion so that we can process it further and make plans to address it, while others help us to sustain positive emotions and assist us in shifting our mood and relieving stress.

On the last Friday of the semester, we bring you one final song: Can’t Stop This Feeling — Justin Timberlake. You’ll find it last on the list of this full playlist of Friday Feels songs from the Fall 2020 semester. We hope you have enjoyed Friday Feels this semester, finding your own rhythm this semester.
