The Digital Communications Specialist reports to the Digital Communications Manager in the Office of Communications and Marketing and performs the following duties:
- Publishes approved content on official pages of the college’s Web site and social media sites on a regular basis. Works in partnership with colleagues in the Office of Communications and Marketing to accomplish this task.
- Interacts with members of the college community to create content for social media postings, update webpages and implement site-wide changes related to design and content needs. May initiate these content changes to ensure that official pages are up-to-date.
- Works to improve and enhance internal and external electronic communications, including but not limited to the college’s social media presence, e-mail marketing efforts and electronic communications from the Office of Communications and Marketing to the rest of the campus (faculty, staff and students). Also works to recommend and implement ways to improve interactivity of the college’s Web site.
- May work with third party vendors, such as the college’s marketing agency, to create and implement digital marketing strategies.
- Ensure Web site SEO and accessibility with a Web-focused writing style, use of keywords, meta tags and W3C standards.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge and skill with current technologies in the social media and Web publishing industry.
- Maintains electronic campus event calendar.
- Develop and program messages promoting college programs and events on digital displays.
- Related duties as assigned.
