Hudson Valley Community College is partnering with the Rensselaer County Department of Health and St. Peter’s Health Partners to serve as a point of distribution (POD) for the county’s COVID-19 vaccination program. The program began on Thursday, January 7, and will continue as availability dictates. Only residents of Rensselaer County will be eligible to receive the vaccine at the Hudson Valley POD.
Please note that members of the Capital Region hub, the county and St. Peter’s follow the tiered distribution plan set forth by the New York State Department of Health, meaning that New York State is responsible for determining which groups are eligible to receive the vaccine at any given time. At this time, only high-risk health care workers, such as emergency responders, and staff and patients of congregate living facilities, are being vaccinated (full list below.)
When New York State determines that other groups can be vaccinated, announcements will be posted in the college’s weekly COVID-19 update published in the Campus Chronicle and Student Announcements.
For a daily update on the eligibility and point of distribution, please refer to www.capitalregionvax.com.
