Rensselaer County Executive Steve McLaughlin announced Feb. 16 that the county is prepared to become a mass coronavirus vaccination distribution site for New York State once the state receives more doses of the vaccine.
McLaughlin’s announcement came after Gov. Andrew Cuomo asked for counties to partner with the state to provide vaccines on a larger scale. McLaughlin said he has already renewed his request for more vaccines after the county delivered their full allotment of vaccine at a recent clinic.
Rensselaer County currently uses the college’s McDonough Sports Complex to distribute the COVID-19 vaccine to eligible Rensselaer County residents only.
