Make the most of your summer with a FREE Certified Bookkeeping Professional workshop!
This 3-week long workshop, which can be taken in person or remotely, aims to prepare individuals to take and pass the Intuit Certified Bookkeeping Professional exam and improve one’s employability prospects in any job requiring bookkeeping skills. This coursework is aligned with further Intuit QuickBooks training available at no cost in the ATTAIN Lab at the Capital District Educational Opportunity Center (CDEOC).
DATES/TIMES: June 12-29, 2023 (Monday-Thursday, 9-11 a.m.)
LOCATION: ATTAIN Lab at the CDEOC, 431 River St, Troy, NY (to work through the coursework remotely, contact the ATTAIN Lab Coordinator at t.nautel@hvcc.edu)
CLICK HERE TO REGISTER. ATTAIN Lab resources are available at no cost to all New York State residents ages 17 and older.
No previous bookkeeping or accounting experience is required, however participants must have basic computer skills and enroll with the ATTAIN Lab prior to the course.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Explain the role of a bookkeeper and common bookkeeping tasks and responsibilities
- Define accounting and the concepts of accounting measurement
- Summarize the double entry accounting method
- Explain the ethical and social responsibilities of bookkeepers in ensuring the integrity of financial information
