Join us beginning Friday, Feb. 26, as HVCC’s Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ODEI) presents a panel discussion that reveals inequity in the fields of STEM, but also celebrates African American contributions in STEM, and a pathway forward.
The panelists are:
Luticha Andre Doucett, Bachelor of Science in Bioinformatics
Luticha is the owner of Catalyst Consulting, an evidence-based intersectional equity and inclusion partner for businesses.
Mac-Arthur Louis, B.S. in Mathematics & Computer Science and MBA
Mac is an HVCC adjunct faculty, facilitator for the STEM Outreach Workshop Initiative, and Owner & Consultant of the Vicano Group.
Dr. Debernee S. Privott, B.A. Psychology, M.A. and PhD. in Criminal Justice – Dr. Privott is the Assistant Dean for Public Engagement for the College of Arts & Sciences and Director of the University in the High School Program at the University at Albany.
The panelists will share how they discovered their path, the obstacles that they faced and what inspires them in their pursuit of STEM equity and excellence.
The panel will be co-moderated by Michelle Thivierge, community engagement coordinator at WHMT Educational Communications, and Taunya Hannibal-Williams, HVCC’s ODEI community outreach specialist.
