Stephen Onley named VETROC interim assistant director

Student Development is happy to announce that Stephen Onley will serve as interim assistant director of the Veterans Resource and Outreach Center (VETROC), which is located in the Siek Campus Center.

Stephen has served as a Veteran Peer Mentor for VETROC since 2022. He served in the U.S. Army for seven years. His military career included support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, where he led paratroopers on intelligence collection missions.

VETROC serves HVCC student veterans, as well as Rensselaer County community veterans, and is funded by a grant from the Rensselaer County Mental Health Department in collaboration with HVCC. VETROC additionally serves as a PFC Dwyer site. The Dwyer program provides peer-to-peer support to veterans with a focus on veteran suicide prevention.

Additional information about HVCC veteran services and the PFC Dwyer Program can be found on the VETROC website.

A goal of VETROC is to provide education and awareness to the college community regarding veteran concerns. Feel free to contact Stephen at (518) 629-7051 or s.onley@hvcc.edu with any questions.eAnne Martocci, MS, CPACC
