PTK members volunteer at The LifeWorks Community Action Pantry

Members  of the HVCC chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society volunteered at LifeWorks Community Action in Ballston Spa on April 12. They packed 200 gallon-sized Ziploc bags with a variety of healthy snacks, juice boxes, toothbrushes and toothpaste to be distributed to local children in need.

All of the items were donated specifically for school-age children and would be hand-delivered to their homes. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the LifeWorks pantry distribution center did not have volunteer groups in a long time and they were delighted to have the PTK members help out.

LifeWorks Community Action is a nonprofit established in 1965 that works to alleviate poverty at the local level in Saratoga County and the Northern Capital Region. They have built a strong network of programs and resources that address the wide range of challenges low-income families face in the community including hunger, utility costs, child care, and language barriers. These programs serve to help thousands of neighbors in Saratoga County and beyond to meet their immediate needs and to work toward economic security.
