Your College ID Card
Please carry your HVCC college ID at all times while on campus.
Student ID cards are issued on the first floor of the Guenther Enrollment Services lobby.

Other identification will be required if you do not have your HVCC ID card in your possession while on campus.
Parking and Vehicle Registration
Please remember to register your vehicle on the online Parking Portal. Students must register their vehicle every semester. Access to the Parking Portal is also available through WIReD in the Student Account Records section. Simply choose “Register My Vehicle” and add your vehicle information.
There is ample parking on campus; please park safely and only in designated areas.
Parking Garage on South Road
Almost 500 spaces are available for students in the parking garage. Upper level 5 may be closed due to snow, but extra parking is available on level 4. Motorcycle parking spaces are available on the first floor of the garage (west side), and in B lots on the north side of campus.
Please DO NOT PARK in the Visitor/Staff lot on Holliday Drive.
Alertus and SUNY NY-Alert
Please remember to sign up for NY Alert and Alertus so you receive important HVCC closing or class cancellation announcements, as well as other emergency and weather-related communications.

Cancellation and Closing Information
Unusually severe weather, emergencies or other situations may require that college operations be closed or curtailed. Information about the college’s cancellation and closing procedures can be found at this link: https://www.hvcc.edu/closing.html
College closings are communicated via email, on the HVCC website, social media sites, on local newspaper, TV and radio station websites, as well as on Alertus and SUNY NY-Alert.
Please be alert to changing weather conditions, especially when winter storms approach. After a storm, drive and walk carefully on campus to avoid possible icy conditions on sidewalks and roads.
Escort Service
Please don’t hesitate to use the campus escort service provided by Public Safety, especially during the dark winter months. Simply call (518) 629-7210 to arrange for an escort.
Public safety also can unlock (most) cars and provide jump starts at no charge!
