Tara Fracalossi and Thomas Lail, faculty members in the Department of Fine Arts, Theatre Arts and Digital Media, have their work included in the exhibition “More Than a Sketchbook” that runs April 30 through June 25 at The Arts Center of the Capital Region in downtown Troy.
During the winter of 2020-21, artists were provided sketchbooks to complete during the ongoing COVID 19 restrictions. “Artists use sketchbooks in many different ways, all are personal to each artist,” according to Belina Colón, curator at The Arts Center. “Viewers are encouraged to look through the daily sketches of what would become one of many finished pieces presented on our gallery walls.” Colón is an alumna of Hudson Valley Community College’s former Gallery Management Program.
“More Than A Sketchbook” will open with a socially-distanced reception (40 visitors at a time) from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 30. The Arts Center is located at 265 River St. in Troy. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
All exhibitions are free and open to the public.
