This week in athletics:
PACK THE GYM: The men’s basketball team is home tomorrow for the opening rounds of the NJCAA Region 3 playoffs. Stop by the McDonough Sports Complex TUESDAY, FEB. 27 at 6 p.m. as the Vikings welcome No. 9 ranked Columbia-Greene. Students, faculty and staff receive free admission!
Men’s Basketball: The men’s program claimed the eight-seed after finishing the season strong with a 6-2 record in the final eight games of the season. Hudson Valley is scheduled to host No. 9 Columbia-Greene on Tuesday, Feb. 27 (see details above).
Women’s Basketball: The women’s program earned the sixth-seed as they finished with a 13-9 overall record and have pulled a tough matchup against the No. 3 seeded Mohawk Valley. The game will be played at Jefferson Community College, the host of the 2024 NJCAA Region 3 Women’s Basketball Championships, on Friday, March 1 at 3:15 p.m.
Bowling: Bowling is set to travel to Lansing, Michigan this week to participate in the 2024 NJCAA Bowling National Championships. The bowling team placed third overall On Feb. 17 at the Region 3 championships at Mohawk Valley.
Men’s Lacrosse: The lacrosse team kicks off its 2024 season on Friday, March 1 as they travel to take on Mercer at 6 p.m. in West Windsor Township, NJ.
Baseball: The baseball team had a successful road trip to Anne Arundel and won its season-opener, 7-4, before falling in the second game, 5-4, in extra innings. The team returns to action Sunday, March 3 for a doubleheader at Kingsborough Community College beginning at noon in Brooklyn.
