The College Success Referral System (CSRS) is open for Summer 2021!

As you know, providing frequent and early feedback regarding performance is essential to student success. When you make use of the CSRS early during the semester, we as an institution have an excellent opportunity to get students connected in a timely manner with the academic and student support services needed to help them overcome barriers to success they may encounter.

If you are need of a refresher, the documentation with directions and explanation of when to use which referral type can be found on the Office of Student Outreach Services and Retention website. One-on-one trainings are also available via Zoom. Feel free to email Matt Howe (m.howe@hvcc.edu) or Jen Eaton (j.eaton@hvcc.edu) to set up a time to meet.

We had some wonderful feedback from those who used the new system during the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 semesters. One new feature was recently added based on the survey results:

The Office of Student Outreach Services and Retention will be adding feedback once outreach has been made. You can find this feedback by going to your alert history and clicking the ‘i’ next to the date created for each individual student referral. The note will be added to the original note submitted by you, the instructor. As a friendly reminder, students do not receive/see the notes in the CSRS communications written by instructors or the Office of Student Outreach Services and Retention, but they are used by Department Chairs, Academic Advisors, and Student Outreach Staff to inform CSRS communications with students.

Thank you to all who have used and continue to use the CSRS. We hope that many faculty will use this student success and retention tool alongside others this summer!
