From viruses to bacteria to plants to humans, genes are present in all forms of life. Nature plays with genes at its own pace and humans learned the game too! Modified, deleted, inserted, fixed – we have done it all! The question is, how far is too far? Or should we just keep going? Is it all good, is it all bad? Is there a happy middle ground? What do our community members think?
Do your research, put your thoughts and findings into words, and come present it in a friendly debate competition.
Topic details:
- Students must pick either gene therapy or genetically modified crops as their broad topic.
- They must then decide if they are going to speak FOR or AGAINST.
- They must prepare their position statement with a talk-time of five minutes maximum.
- There will be five FOR and five AGAINST speakers.
