Biology Club: Call for Participation in Debate Competition

Modified, deleted, inserted, fixed – we have done it all! The question is, how far is too far? Or should we just keep going? Is it all good, is it all bad? Is there a happy middle ground? What do our community members think?

Do your research, put your thoughts and findings into words, and come present it in a friendly debate competition. 

Topic details:

  • Students must pick either gene therapy or genetically modified crops as their broad topic.
  • They must then decide if they are going to speak FOR or AGAINST.
  • They must prepare their position statement with a talk-time of five minutes maximum.
  • There will be five FOR and five AGAINST speakers.

Date: Monday, March 25
Time: 2:30 to 4 p.m.
Room: SCI, room 340

  • First and second place winners will receive gift cards.
  • All participants will receive a certificate of participation.
  • Pizza will be provided.
