Dr. Ernest R. Rugenstein, adjunct professor in the Education and Social Sciences Department, has published a book, “The Influence of Mysticism on John Wesley’s Theology.”
Methodist denominations along with many independent churches incorporate John Wesley’s influence on theology within their denominational distinctives. Rugenstein’s book looks at Wesley’s concept of Christian Perfection to address the questions: How did the theology of John Wesley come about? Was mysticism involved?
