The Cosmetology and Natural Hair Styling programs at the Capital District Educational Opportunity Center (CDEOC) are now accepting appointments for community clinics on Thursdays. Clinics are open to the community and services are free, however we ask for a donation of a non-perishable food item for our food pantry (e.g., dry or canned goods such as pasta, sauce, soups, veggies, granola or protein bars, peanut butter, nuts).
WHAT: Free hair and beauty services (Please note that services are performed by students enrolled in our Cosmetology and Natural Hair Styling programs under the supervision of licensed professionals. The clinics allow our students to gain valuable experience working with real clients.)
WHEN: Thursdays (first appointments at 10 a.m. and last appointments at 1 p.m.)
WHERE: Capital District EOC (431 River St, Troy)
SERVICES: Cuts, coloring, styling (e.g., blowouts, rollers, events, formal), braiding, locs and retwists, permanent waving, relaxers, hair treatments (e.g., protein, moisture, scalp, conditioning), manicures, pedicures, acrylic nails, gels, eyebrow and facial waxing, makeup application, and chemical-free textured hair services
To make an appointment for a service, call the CDEOC Cosmetology Salon at (518) 273-1900 ext. 2206 (or ext. 2118 for natural hair styling services). Please note that clients are limited to one service per visit, and one visit per month.
