Important Changes for Zoom Recording — Effective Aug. 16, 2021

The following changes will be made regarding Zoom Recordings:

  • Local recordings will no longer be an option in Zoom (recording to your local device). A best practice is to record to the Zoom cloud, which automatically stores the recording in your Techsmith Knowmia account. In addition, local recoding does not support various view options, such as gallery view and formats offered by Zoom Cloud Recording.
  • Viewing recordings will require ALL users to authenticate before accessing the recording.
  • All Zoom recordings will be auto-deleted after 10 days. As stated above, all recordings are automatically stored in your Techsmith Knowmia account which should be used for linking to Blackboard for distribution of recording links.
