Counseling and Wellness Services works closely with community providers to bring our campus community resources to best support you and your overall wellness. St. Peter’s Crime Victim Services is offering Free Virtual Support Groups for Fall 2021. Read below for more information about St. Peter’s Crime Victim Services and the free resources they offer.

St. Peter’s Crime Victim Services’ mission is to reduce the incidence and trauma of all crimes through person-centered emotional support, advocacy, medical and legal assistance, and community-based prevention efforts.
Deciding to start your healing journey can be challenging. We are here to explain our services, answer questions and connect you with additional resources. Whether you start your services with our programs in the emergency department with a Forensic Examiner and Advocate, or in our offices with a counselor or therapist, we are here to support you. Our staff includes counselors/therapists, community educators, legal advocates, certified rape crisis counselors, forensic nurse examiners, and an intake coordinator. We offer services for crime victims, their family members and friends, and the community.

Support Groups
St. Peter’s Crime Victim Services hosts a variety of support groups. These groups offer a safe space for individuals to connect with others going through similar experiences. Due to COVID-19, we are offering virtual support groups.

- Reduce stress and anxiety
All of our support groups are offered at no cost. Participants must complete an intake prior to participation.
St. Peter’s Crime Victim Services (SPCVS) is offering a variety of free virtual support groups. All groups begin the week of Sept. 13, 2021 and run for ten weeks. Individuals will need to attend at least eight of the ten weeks in order to participate.
To register, individuals must:
• Be a victim/survivor of a crime
• Be receiving additional support (from SPCVS, another victim assistance program,
or another mental health provider)
• Complete a brief intake with the SPCVS staff person who is co-facilitating the group
• Be 18 or older
Registration is required by Sept. 3, 2021. Individuals who are interested in joining any of these groups should email the contact listed with the group name as the subject line, and their name, contact information, and location in the body of the email.
