Before COVID, student PCs were available 24/7 in the Campus Center near public safety. During COVID, this became prime real estate for several lockdown-related functions. Since then, there has been no 24/7 open-access lab. Many locations were considered, and few were suitable for the needs.
The new 24/7 lab location will be in BTC-1044. After the Spring 2024 semester ends, work will begin to prepare this space for student access. The space will include carrels fitted with a curtain suitable for testing with a lock-down browser so as not to interrupt the testing process.
IIT is working with Public Safety to establish access controls. Around June, more details on availability and how to access the space will be provided.
