This week was the final week of the Summer 2021 Kids on Campus program. Community and Profession Education was able to offer 10 weeks of virtual kids programming and five weeks of in-person programming.
Nearly 550 campers registered for more than 2,500 different course sections this year. We were delighted to have over 20 college faculty and staff teach in our program this year in subjects such as Forensic Science, Mechatronics, Battle Royale, Health Sciences and more. We were also fortunate to have many of our returning K-12 teachers offer camps in courses such as Find Your Inner Painter, Pokemon, STEM in Your Environment and Italian Cuisine.
The success of these programs could not be achieved without the support of many offices and departments on campus. A special shout out to Public Safety, Physical Plant, Athletics, Events, Human Resources, Payroll, Communications and Marketing, Graphics, Central Receiving, Multimedia and Video Production, Information Technology Services, and Health Services. Also, a special thanks to both the Grants Office and the Foundation for securing funds to provide nearly a dozen children with a scholarship to attend programs. Without this continued support we would not be able to provide children with an educational and fun camp experience.
