Alyssa McClenaghan and Arnela Mahmutović, both Fine Arts alumna, had work included with five other regional artists in “SEEN,” an exhibition at the Albany Center Gallery that was on view Aug. 6 through Aug. 31, 2021.
McClenaghan’s work also was included in the NADA x Foreland, an art fair held Aug. 28 and 29 at Foreland art center in Catskill. Mahmutović is a new adjunct faculty member in the Department of Fine Arts, Theatre Arts and Digital Media.
Associate Professor Tara Fracalossi and Professor Thom Lail, long-time Fine Arts faculty members, took part in two summer exhibitions:
Inspired Views 2021 — held June 27 – July 30 in the art galleries at the Monserrat College of Art in Beverly, MA. This is the fourth consecutive year that Fracalossi and Lail took part in the annual invitational exhibition that showcases work by art educators.
More Than A Sketchbook: The Diary of an Artist — held April 30 – June 26 in the Main Gallery at The Arts Center of the Capital Region in downtown Troy. During the winter of 2020-21, several local artists were provided sketchbooks to complete during the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions. The exhibit explored how artists use sketchbooks in their own personal way. Viewers were able to see daily sketches that were the beginnings of finished pieces presented on the gallery’s walls.
