As we begin a new academic year, I would like to share some helpful reminders on how to connect with Multimedia and Video Services (MVS) here at the college.
Multimedia and Video Services (previously known as Viking Video Technologies), serves all college departments and offices. While VVT served external organizations or clients, MVS focuses exclusively on providing services to members of our college community, as well as support for the Office of Communications and Marketing.
Please note that some of the services formerly provided by VVT are now distributed among MVS, Institutional Services and Events, and Information Technology Services. Please see below for more details.
- MVS is located on the first floor of the Bulmer Telecommunications Center, and provides the following services: Photo and video production for academic or administrative purposes, livestreamed events and broadcasts, and A/V set up for larger events requiring video and sound equipment.
- Please use the Request for Photography or Video Services form or contact me at j.yost@hvcc.edu or (518) 629-7716 to discuss your project or to schedule a photo shoot. I recommend that you reach out at least one week in advance as it’s difficult to accommodate late requests for support.
- For on-campus event assistance related to computer hardware and software, room set-up, lighting and HVAC issues, please contact Institutional Services and Events.
- Each classroom computer kiosk is equipped with instructions for the basic classroom set up, and a number for the ITS help desk if PC assistance is needed.
- If large scale A/V assistance is needed outside of areas like BTC Auditorium or the Maureen Stapleton Theatre, please use the aforementioned form to ensure prompt service. If it is outside MVS’s scope of work, we can certainly point you in the right direction.
