This Week in Athletics

 

Cross Country: The men’s and women’s cross country programs were off this weekend and return to action on Saturday, Oct. 2 when they travel to compete in the Cazenovia Invitational.

Football: The football program (1-2) dropped their second consecutive game as they were defeated 35-3 to Monroe College, a NJCAA division I program, in New Rochelle, NY on Saturday afternoon at the New Rochelle City Park. The football team returns home this Saturday, Oct. 2 when they welcome the New Jersey Warriors to the Outdoor Athletic Complex on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College. The game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. kickoff.

Men’s Soccer: The men’s soccer team earned its first win of the season with a tough 1-0 game win Broome over the weekend. The team just completed the ultimate gauntlet of a schedule with three-straight games against nationally ranked programs. The men’s soccer team is home on Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 6 p.m. when they play Ulster.

Women’s Soccer: The women’s team dropped a tough match at home to Broome over the weekend. They also completed a tough schedule with three-straight nationally ranked programs. The women return home on Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 4 p.m.

Women’s Tennis: The tennis program started their season on the road against Mohawk Valley. The No. 1 doubles team of Emma Nuzzi and Isabella Guyer earned the Vikings lone point in its 8-1 defeat.

Women’s Volleyball: The women’s volleyball team has been improving game over game, which concluded with a tough 5-set home loss to Onondaga on Sunday. The Vikings fought back from a two-set deficit to force the decisive set. The volleyball team is back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 29 when they host Mohawk Valley at 6 p.m.
