Congratulations Dil A. Sultana from Center for Professional Excellence

 

Please join us in congratulating Dil A Sultana, Ph.D., who works in the Learning Assistance Centers located in the Marvin Library Commons. She has received the Teaching and Learning Certification of Completion from the Center for Professional Excellence.

Dil A. Sultana, a Biology faculty member from the Learning Centers, has been with the college for three years. Prior to joining the Hudson Valley Community College faculty, she was working as research faculty in the College of Medicine, University of Florida, Gainesville. She has a passion for science and enjoys sharing this excitement with others. After finishing her Bachelor and Master degrees in Microbiology, she earned a Ph.D in Immunology and worked as a research scientist at the University of Pennsylvania, National Institute of Health, and Albany Medical College. She mentored graduate research students at her previous workplace, an experience that encouraged her to pursue a career in teaching. Now, she is helping students with Biology-related subjects on campus. She believes, as a scientist and as an educator, that it is her responsibility to challenge and support students in meeting various learning objectives, cultivating an interest in biology, and understanding how to apply their knowledge after college. She says she is still learning about various aspects of teaching in 0rder to be be better professor.
