Final exams are quickly approaching, and student stress is increasing. To assist students in managing stress and calming the nervous system before exams, Student Development is offering 5-10 minute demonstrations of mindful breathing. These demonstrations are designed to be offered at the beginning or end of classmindful breathing demonstrations, which can be done in 5-10 minutes (depending on how much time is available).
Mindfulness and breathing exercises are scientifically proven to help calm the nervous system, reduce anxiety, and improve concentration. It encourages focus on breathing, body sensations, or surroundings, and interrupts negative thought patterns. The techniques taught will help students:
Lower anxiety and stop overthinking.
Improve concentration while revising.
Calm your nerves before and during an exam.
