This week in athletics:

Hudson Valley athletics is searching for student workers ($12.50/hr) to work our home games. Interested students please visit the athletics department in MCD 219 to sign up!

Cross Country: The men’s and women’s cross country programs are set to compete in the Mountain Valley Conference Championships this Saturday, Oct. 23.

Football: The football team dropped a tough game, 21-14, on the road against NJCAA Division 1 program Sussex Community College on Sunday, Oct. 17. The football team returns to action this Saturday, Oct. 23 for Homecoming with a scheduled kickoff at 2 p.m. against Erie.

Men’s Soccer: The men’s soccer program dropped a tough, 3-2 match on the road against Jefferson Community College on Saturday afternoon in Watertown, NY. The men’s soccer team concluded its regular season and will now wait the decision of the Region 3 soccer committee on its postseason fate, as they are in line for a 10 or 11 seed, if the committee chooses to seed past eight programs.

Women’s Soccer: The women’s soccer program keeps picking up key regional wins as they improved to 4-0 in the last four games and have secured a spot in the NJCAA Region 3 postseason following their 7-0 win over Jefferson Saturday afternoon in Watertown, NY. The Vikings concluded its regular season with an 8-5 overall record and 6-5 in Region 3. The team is projected to be an eight-seed for the upcoming Region 3 playoffs beginning Oct. 23. If the soccer committee seeds past eight, the Vikings will host the nine-seed on Saturday, Oct. 23. If the soccer committee only seeds eight programs, the Vikings will travel on Tuesday, Oct. 26 to play top-seed Mohawk Valley in Utica, NY.

Women’s Tennis: Hudson Valley’s No. 1 Singles player, Emma Nuzzi, competed in the NJCAA Region 3 top singles championship match on Saturday, Oct. 16 in Mohawk Valley. Emma went the distance vs. top-seed Selma Dizdarevic (7-6, 7-5, 4-6, 6-4), but was defeated in three sets.

Women’s Volleyball: The Hudson Valley Community College women’s volleyball team dropped a pair of matches against Fulton-Montgomery and Orange last week. They are back on the road this Wednesday, Oct. 20 when they travel to play Adirondack.
