The 2021 eSports season has officially started as the Vikings are competing in eight different games this season with record numbers of participants, doubling from the Spring 2021 semester, which saw the Vikings claim the NJCAAe National Championship in Call of Duty: Duos.
Monday
Call of Duty: Cold War: The Vikings lost by forfeit to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College. They are scheduled to take on Trinidad State this week.
Rocket League: The Vikings have two teams competing this semester in the Rocket League events.
–Rocket League (Team One): Lost, 3-2, in a tough 5-game match, over Wake Technical Community College. They are scheduled to take on Utah State University Eastern this week.
–Rocket League (Team Green): Lost, 3-1, to Shelton State Community College. They are scheduled to take on Northwestern Michigan Hawk Owls this week.
Wednesday
Super Smash Bros: This is the most popular game among the Vikings eSports program. We have eight individuals competing weekly for a chance to clinch a playoff berth following the 8-week season.
–Tylar M.: Lost by forfeit to Dutchess Community College
–Christian M.: Lost, 3-1, to Mott Community College.
–Matthew P.: WON, 3-0 over Fort Scott Community College.
–Shane T.: Results were unavailable at this time.
–William M.: Lost by forfeit to Barton Community College.
–Benny W.: WON, 3-0, over Tallahassee Community College.
Hearthstone: We have two students participating in Heartstone this semester, including Ligori K., who finished the spring 2021 semester as the nation’s top-ranked Hearthstone player.
–Ligori K.: Ligori had a bye week last week; Scheduled to play Ocean State this week.
–Tylar M.: Lost by forfeit to Shelton State; Scheduled to play Borough of Manhattan CC.
Thursday
Overwatch: The Vikings WON, 3-0, over Finger Lakes last week. They are scheduled to take on Crowder College this week.
Call of Duty: Gun Fight: There are two teams participating for the Vikings.
–HVCC Team 1: The Vikings team lost 3-0 to Southwest Wisconsin Technical College. They are scheduled to play Herkimer College this week.
–HVCC Team 2: The team had a bye week and is scheduled to play Southwest Wisconsin Technical this week.
Fridays
Valorant: The Vikings was on a bye week and they are scheduled to take on Monroe Community College this week.
