On Sunday, September 15, Honors College students had a spectacular experience at the 4th annual Latinx Festival in Hudson, NY. The students assisted members from the Columbia County Sanctuary Movement to ensure the festival grounds were well maintained throughout the event. The festival took place at the Hudson Waterfront, which served as a beautiful venue showcasing delicious food, talented artists, and lively performers. Taking center stage were musicians and dancers highlighting the art and custom attire of various countries. The selection of traditional food including sweet, creamy horchata, crispy, warm empanadas and flavorful, spicy tacos was incredibly refreshing. The students truly enjoyed every aspect of the event, celebrating the diversity and unity of cultures. They were also delighted to meet another fellow Viking at the event, Bryan MacCormack ’09, who works with the Columbia County Sanctuary Movement!
